Wei Wang

Ph.D. Student · The Ohio State University

I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at The Ohio State University, advised by Professor Yongyang Cai. My committee members are Professors Ian Sheldon, Wuyang Hu, and Brent Sohngen.

My research lies at the intersection of environmental and energy economics, agricultural economics, and international trade. I develop forward-looking quantitative models to study how climate and trade policies shape agriculture-related structural transformation, clean-energy deployment, and the distribution of welfare and emissions across countries.

I also use individual and household survey data, applied econometric methods, and discrete-choice experiments to study nonmarket valuation, behavioral responses to environmental risks, and household decision-making related to sustainable resource use.

I am on the 2026–2027 job market.
